Regardless of what avenue of dubstep you appreciate and follow, if any, don’t be misinformed. Do your homework, and understand where the word and sounds come from. In this day and age, far too many of us fall victim to buzz words and the hype machine. At the end of the day, all that does is help a select group of self righteous fools profit.

Obviously, I’m not sure about what type of music you like, but I find it so hard to listen to music that I really like, especially with words when I’m working on homework. (But, for mindless work, like cleaning a room, I listen to music that I kno.
With so much homework and studying to do, and such limited time to do it—especially after accounting for other time-consuming commitments such as clubs, volunteering, work and sports—dorm-dwellers have become veritable experts at finding fun ways to increase productivity. Given the ability of music to stimulate both the right and left sides of the brain, it is no surprise that it has.

A lot of dubstep I can listen to. If it is a soundtrack or whatnot, I can stand it. As long as I don't have to pay much attention to it. Mainly for the fact that I believe not enough work goes into it to make it sound reasonable (just basic synths, get the ugly synths out of there!). But I'd like to propose a clarification to people. Qualify music into two different categories. Entertaining.
